[art in architecture - 'from A to
B']
2011
Eye-catching from a distance, striking close-up.
The facade of this building gives it a strong presence, moving
contemporary art forward in architecture. Making Epsom Station
immediately recognisable.
The
black lines reveal themselves as abstracted images of railway
tracks, going criss-cross as we all travel from A to B. The frosted
panels reflect the ever-changing skies, in stark contrast with the
triangular coloured panels making it a playful but bold statement.
The abstract and minimal design seduces you to look up and up again
and invokes serious thoughts from totally contrasting historical
spaces in Epsom.
