Suzanne Jongmans mutates old materials into plastics and packing materials and turns old masters into new contemporary photographic works. The new elements in her photographs are like the ones used in the past, and were symbols of value.
I took this picture at the KunstRAI 2012 in Amsterdam by the stand of Galerie Wilms and was mesmerized by the purity of the model and the striking likeness of work of the old masters, such as the Girl with the Pearl Earring by Vermeer.
